Today, while making a purchase online, Benjamin asked me what I was holding. Here's how the conversation went down:
Benjamin: Mom, what's that?
Me: It's a credit card.
Benjamin: Mom, can I have a credit card?
Me: No, baby. You're too little for a credit card.
Benjamin: No. I'm big so I need a credit card.
Me: I'm sorry, baby, but you'll have to wait until you're older to get one.
Benjamin: I'm three. I need one. I have to have one.
And so it begins at the tender age of three.
